The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois is currently accepting applications for our adjunct pool. We are specifically looking for instructors with experience and background in geographic information systems (GIS), spatial statistics, computer cartography, interactive cartography, remote sensing, and/or applications of GIS in the urban and environmental domains.

We seek candidates who are located in the Chicagoland area and are interested or experienced in offering various course formats (in person, online, hybrid) to support the unique needs of our students. A master’s degree in a geography or environmental studies related discipline is required; PhD preferred. The candidate should have experiences of using and teaching with ArcGIS Pro and/or other geospatial packages depending on the course needs (QGIS, Erdas Imagine, Python, R, GeoDa, JavaScript, Illustrator, Inkscape and/or other robust graphic design program). We will invite promising candidates to attend an on-campus interview with the faculty, which will include a short teaching demonstration.
