NEIU Scholarships

As described more fully in the NEIU application materials, the University is very pleased to share key terms and conditions for the NEIU For You Scholarship Initiative approved by the Board of Trustees. The Scholarship Initiative will only be awarded to individuals who meet the requirements of the program. The Scholarship Initiative is for incoming transfer students for their first semester at NEIU. For transfer students, the Scholarship Initiative covers a maximum of three credit hours in Fall 2022, and does not apply to Spring 2023 or Summer 2023. Tuition for all transfer students for the Fall 2022 semester, including those awarded a scholarship under this program, will be held at the Fall 2022 per credit hour rate during their second, third, and fourth years at the University, but does not apply to summer semester. To qualify, you must have an annual adjusted gross family income of $60,000 or less and family assets of $50,000 or less. You must be an Illinois resident and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to receive this scholarship. NEIU will waive the minimum 2.5 GPA admission requirement for eligible students. International students and part-time students are not entitled to this Scholarship Initiative program. Students must register for full-time (at least 12 credits) to qualify for consideration for the Scholarship Initiative. The program is non-refundable, e.g., students who do not complete a semester will not be provided any cash or credit benefit. Northeastern Illinois University reserves the right to terminate the Scholarship Initiative when all allotted funds are exhausted, or for any other reason as solely determined by the University.
