Full-Time, Continuing Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services, the Associate Director for Health and Wellness provides day-to-day coordination of Student Health Services. This includes the provision, assessment, and oversight of health services and health promotion.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Associate Director for Health and Wellness reports to the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services, and provides coordination of day-to-day provision and scheduling of services in Health Services; provides direct clinical services to students; provide leadership in identifying needed health services for students; works closely with the SHCS Director and Assistant Directors to decide departmental direction and provides integrated services. The Associate Director for Health and Wellness will take leadership for department in providing health education and wellness information to the NEIU community; serves as the primary administrator of the electronic health record; oversees ordering of clinical and office supplies, and handling of monthly bills; acts as a consultant to the university regarding health matters; collaborates with other NEIU departments regarding outreach initiatives; provides clinical supervision to Health Services staff as needed; and monitors continuing education and credentialing of nursing staff. The Associate Director for Health and Wellness evaluates staff performance in collaboration with Director; and supervises clerical staff and student workers.

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced practice nurse in Adult or Family Practice Nursing or Registered Professional Nurse with a completed masters’ degree. A minimum of five years of previous clinical and/or administrative experience in a similar health care setting. Advance Practice Nurse and/or RN licensure in Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with university health services and health promotion

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision benefits, sick and vacation days, and participation in the State Universities Retirement System. Applicants are expected to respond based on the entire job description.
