Assistant Professor of Communication
The Department of Communication, Media and Theatre at Northeastern Illinois University invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Communication to begin Fall 2020. In particular, we are looking for a candidate with expertise in one or more of the following areas: strategic communication, organizational communication, leadership communication, business communication, or public relations.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach introductory Communication courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialization. Candidates will serve on graduate committees, supervise theses and independent studies, develop new courses and curriculum in an area of specialty, maintain productive research activity, and perform service at the department and university level. Experience with hybrid and online teaching is preferred.
This hire will be an enthusiastic contributor to a vibrant, interdisciplinary department with a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Candidates will be expected to contribute to an urban educational environment that values diversity and inclusion. Candidates from underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
