Golden Eagle Welcome Day provides an opportunity for Northeastern faculty and staff to welcome the newest members of our Golden Eagle family—our new first-year and transfer students.

Who is invited?

Our event is designed to welcome the incoming Fall 2018 freshman class as well as transfer students who will begin in Fall 2018. Current student workers, faculty and staff will be here to welcome you to the University.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE EVENT AND CAN I BRING GUESTS?

This event is specifically for first-year and new transfer students, so we ask that you do not bring guests.

Campus Services Available During Golden Eagle Welcome Day

University Bookstore

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Grab a snack, buy a Northeastern t-shirt and check out the books selection.

Welcome Desk

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Visit the Welcome Desk and Box Office to get information on U-Pass, Northeastern ID, campus lost and found, and locker rentals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring and what should I wear?

Be sure to bring your University-issued ID card so that you can check in to the event. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate to participate in PLAYFAIR activities.

Please note that you will need to keep your personal belongings with you throughout the event.

Where can I park?

On August 25, complimentary parking will be available in all of the Main Campus parking lots and the Parking Facility. The suggested parking locations are Lots D and F.

What should I do when I arrive?

When you arrive, please visit the check-in table, which will be located north of the Auditorium, located in Building E (identified as number 5 on the map). Be sure to show your NEIU ID to a member of staff to check in and to receive your ticket for lunch.

What will we be doing?

Activities for the day include a special ceremony to honor our newest students with a commemorative pin. After welcome remarks from University leadership and the pinning ceremony, students will be treated to lunch and will be joined by our faculty. After lunch students can participate in Playfair and other activities and tours.
