The Student Center for Science Engagement (SCSE) offers science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) advising services, including transcript evaluation, for prospective and incoming transfer students with plans to major in one of the following:

  • Computer Science

The Student Center for Science Engagement is hosting Transfer to STEM @ NEIU to welcome prospective and admitted transfer students who are planning to pursue the following majors: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology.

  • a short presentation on STEM majors and resources at NEIU
  • a panel of current STEM students who transferred, discussing their experiences at NEIU
  • a resource fair with representatives from
    • STEM departments
    • transfer admissions
    • financial aid & scholarships
    • student clubs & organizations

Community College STEM Transfer Advising

SCSE staff visit community college campuses to speak with students during transfer fairs and table visits. Students can schedule individual appointments to discuss the transfer process and STEM major requirements either at Northeastern or at their community college. Presentations on these topics or others, such as research opportunities in science and math, are also available for interested student organizations or science departments at area community colleges.
