JAN. 16-MAY 4

Advising hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, by appointment.

Open Biology Advising located in the Biology conference room (BBH 358D)

Declare a Biology major or minor, obtain a general advice, apply for graduation or complete other paperwork.

"Demystifying Science Engagement": SCSE Information Session

Are you currently majoring in a STEM discipline, or are you considering a career in science? Come learn about how the SCSE can help you successfully navigate campus resources and engage in the sciences at NEIU for an effective, productive and rewarding undergraduate experience in the STEM majors. Snacks and light refreshments will be served.

Branding and Networking Workshop

Learn to present yourself in a professional manner with a portfolio of cohesive skills and experiences. We will also highlight networking and online identity skills. Come learn and participate with your fellow students!

Applications open for the Summer 2018 SCSE Undergraduate Research and Professional Development Program

Five or ten week summer research and professional development internship with NEIU faculty for declared science majors and minors. Pick up an application in BBH 235 starting in February.

Interested in conducting research at NEIU? Come talk with faculty and students about their research. Applications for Summer 2018 will be available. Light refreshments will be served.

Regional LSAMP Symposium & Student Research Conference

Are you wondering how to successfully complete your degree and move toward a career in the sciences, or what possible career options are there in STEM? Do you have research to present or want to make professional connections? This local conference might be for you! Fellowships/ funding for attending are available. Stop by the SCSE in BBH 235 for more information. 


Career Planning/Professional Development Workshop

Shows students the importance of developing a plan for their own professional development and helps them begin to do so. Includes help with resume/cover letter building and interview preparation.

Tips on Applying and Succeeding in Grad School

Learn from a diverse panel of current University of Chicago graduate students about applying to, and succeeding in graduate school. The panel will include NEIU alumnus Chris Craddock.
