Work with Northeastern on achieving our goal of delivering world-class education. Whether you are a university, community college or other academic institution that is looking for a partner, or a scholar who wants to be part of a unique educational experience, Northeastern is open to learning more about you and exploring whether we share a common educational vision. Contact the Office of International Programs and discover the possibilities.

International Academic Partners

UNIVERSITIES

Northeastern currently has more than 40 partnerships with leading universities around the world, and we are always open to exploring new partnership opportunities. A typical agreement with a partner university includes student and faculty exchanges, as well as opportunities to engage in joint research, and other projects.

More recently we have developed joint degree programs. These programs allow students to start a degree at a university in their home country and then transfer to NEIU to finish the program and obtain an NEIU diploma. Such students can remain in the U.S. to do Optional Practical Training.

COMMUNITY COLLEGES

Due to its commitment to keeping the cost of education down, Northeastern Illinois University partners with community colleges around the world. Currently we have automatic transfer agreements with many community colleges in and around Chicago. We have a similar arrangement with the San Mateo Community College system in northern California, and with a community college in Pakistan. These agreements guarantee admission to partner school students who complete an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree with at least a 2.5 GPA, permitting the student to transfer into Northeastern Illinois University to complete a bachelor's degree program. Community colleges seeking to partner with Northeastern Illinois University should contact the Office of International Programs at international-programs@neiu.edu, or by phone (773) 442-4796.

HIGH SCHOOLS

NEIU also partners with the GEMS school network. Annually we offer a scholarship to an incoming freshman who is a recent graduate of a GEMS high school.

Recruiting Agents

Northeastern Illinois University works with reputable agencies around the world to find qualified students interested in pursuing a degree at NEIU. We like to work in an engaged and professional way with agents to regularly share information and to develop relationships that ensure understanding. Contact the Office of International Programs to learn how your company can become one of our select partners.

For existing recruiting agents once your student is admitted, NEIU will not send out I-20s to you due to the SEVIS regulations. Please make sure you provide the correct information of your students, so OIP can send out the I-20s directly to their address.
