Northeastern Illinois University El Centro invites high school senior students and GED graduates that are planning to attend college, but need guidance, to be part of the Developing Active Leaders in Education (D.A.L.E.) Program. This is a college preparation support program that will prepare students interested in attending El Centro. Students will learn college success strategies, in addition to learning about financial resources and professional development. During the summer of 2014 students will have the opportunity to apply and participate in Summer Transition Program at El Centro.
To participate in the D.A.L.E Program high school students should meet the criteria below:
- Student must be a senior in high school or a recent high school graduate (never attended college before) and;
- Minimum ACT of 15 or rank in the top half of graduating class with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale).
This is a competitive program and space is limited. Therefore, eligible students must submit a complete application packet that includes: one letter of recommendation (from either a high school counselor, teacher, priest/pastor, or community leader) in addition to high school transcripts and Standardized Test results (when available) or GED by the deadline.
