The College of Education is proud to partner with Amundsen High School to enhance the educational experience of its students. Since 2012, NEIU faculty members have worked with Amundsen’s teachers to develop curriculum and improve instructional effectiveness. Together we are creating a culture of excellence that includes increased student attendance and success. Amundsen students have participated in the NEIU Student Research Symposium and have worked with professors in NEIU classrooms. NEIU students serve the school through clinical and student teaching, and benefit from the expertise of Amundsen teachers. Current partnership projects include the implementation of literacy initiatives, curriculum mapping, and the development of dual credit options. Recently, the Chicago Public Schools removed Amundsen from its list of schools on probation for the first time in 11 years. Go, Vikings!
