The Department of Counselor Education at Northeastern Illinois University offers four CACREP-accredited master’s degree programs in counseling. Each program meets the educational requirements for counselor licensure in the State of Illinois:

In addition, graduates of the Couple and Family Counseling program are eligible to obtain the Associate Marriage and Family Therapy (AMFT) and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) licenses in the State of Illinois. Rehabilitation Counseling graduates are eligible for the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential. Graduates of the School Counseling program meet the educational requirements for the School Counselor Endorsement.
