Just over the border in Mexico is an area peppered with maquiladoras: massive sweatshops often owned by the world's largest multinational corporations. Carmen and Lourdes work at maquiladoras in Tijuana, and it is there that they try to balance the struggle for survival with their own radicalization in this documentary.

War Zone

Fiilmmaker Maggie Hadleigh-West believes that the streets are a war zone for women. Armed with only a video camera she both documents this experience and confronts her abusers.  War Zone lays bare the normally unspoken gender rules of the street where access to women's bodies is regarded as a male right.

Thy Will Be Done

When Steve decided to make the transition to become Sara, he abandoned his true calling: to be a Pastor. After a difficult divorce and a transition period filled with countless gender specialists and hostility from family members, a higher power prevails, and Sara — now an out and proud transsexual woman — can no longer ignore her call to ministry. The film highlights that point of tension where gender, family relationships and faith intersect.

The New Black

This award-winning documentary boldly examines the controversial and challenging issues facing African American communities on gay civil rights, campaigns for/against marriage equality and in particular the role of faith institutions. The film makes a compelling case that the fight for LGBT rights in Black communities is an extension of the Black Freedom Struggle.
