The 2022 NEIU Faculty Institute welcomes all faculty to the Main Campus for two half-days of professional renewal. This year's program, "Cultivating Inclusive Community and Mental Health: Thriving "Post" Pandemic at NEIU," features keynote speaker Dr. Mays Imad. Imad serves as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Biology at Connecticut College and is a Senior Fellow, AACU STEM. Imad's current research focuses on stress, self-awareness, advocacy, and classroom community, and how these relate to cognition, metacognition, and, ultimately, student learning and success. Through her teaching and research, she seeks to provide her students with transformative opportunities that are grounded in the aesthetics of learning, truth-seeking, and self-realization.
Breakout sessions include innovative faculty teaching and learning strategies and opportunities to celebrate the accomplishments of our distinguished award recipients.
