In this role you will:

The Academic Affairs Specialist, performs, supervises, directs and/or advises on items involving a variety of essential management services. Provides assistance and advice to the Provost and all senior staff members on various Human Resources related matters pertaining to faculty, Civil Service, Administrative Professionals, and Administrative Support Professionals. Acts as primary contact for the Provost and all senior staff members in Academic Affairs and other administrative personnel concerning the Human Resources and Payroll transactions associated with faculty and all other employee types that fall under the umbrella of the office of Academic Affairs. Provides the essential management service of contract administration, the hiring packet process and creates the documentation for such procedures.

To be successful in this role, qualified applicants will have:



  1. High school graduation or equivalent

  2. Any combination totaling three years from the following categories:

    1. progressively more responsible work experience performing duties comparable to those listed for the previous lower level of the series

    2. college course work in human resource administration, business administration, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

      1. 60 semester hours equals one year

      2. 90 semester hours equals two years

      3. 120 semester hours equals three years

Departmental Preferences:

  • Ability to analyze and develop office guidelines, procedures, and systems.

  • Ability to select and develop appropriate criteria methods and procedures to be utilized in order to solve problems.

  • Skills in oral and written communication.

  • Ability to utilize various software packages.

  • Supervisory and administrative ability.

Commensurate with experience


Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
