Which browser should I use to take the training?

It is recommended that you use the most recent/up-to-date version of web browser Mozilla Firefox (best option), Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

CAN I COMPLETE THE TRAINING IN SEPARATE SEGMENTS OF TIME OR DO I HAVE TO DO IT ONE SITTING FROM BEGINNING TO END?

Both parts can be completed in segments or steps.

CAN YOU SEND THE ONLINE TRAINING EMAIL TO MY PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS?

All training communications must be sent exclusively to your official University email account.

Procedural Questions

I WAS HIRED AFTER THE ONLINE TRAINING STARTED. DO I STILL HAVE TO TAKE THE ONLINE TRAINING?

If you started working as an employee after the official 2021 online training period began, you are expected to complete the online training by Nov. 30, 2021.

I COMPLETED A NEW HIRE ETHICS TRAINING TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I WAS FIRST HIRED. DO I STILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE ETHICS TRAINING?

Yes, you must complete both the new hire training and the Annual Ethics Training. The Ethics Act requires University employees to complete certain requirements within 30 days of the start of employment. It also requires that all employees complete, at least annually, an ethics training program conducted by their university. 

I WASN'T ABLE TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING WITHIN THE TRAINING PERIOD. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

If you were unable to complete the online training during the training period, you must contact the NEIU Ethics Officer. You may be penalized for noncompliance.

I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY THE UNIVERSITY, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR THE TRAINING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you are currently an employee at Northeastern, contact the Office of Human Resources at (773) 442-5200 to ensure that your current employment status is accurate and up to date. If there are any discrepancies with your employment status, the NEIU Ethics Officer will manually enroll you in the courses. 

I AM CURRENTLY ON LEAVE FROM THE UNIVERSITY. DO I STILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING?

If your current employment status is anything other than "Active", then you are not required to complete the online trainings. Once you return from leave, you will be required to take both trainings. Please contact the NEIU Ethics Officer upon return.

I COMPLETED MY NEIU ETHICS TRAINING. DO I NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF?

You do not need to send copies of the certificates to the NEIU Ethics Officer.

I WORK AT ANOTHER PUBLIC COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY WHERE I COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING FOR ETHICS AND/OR HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION PREVENTION TRAINING THIS FALL. CAN I GET CREDIT FOR THESE TRAININGS AT NEIU?

You may be able to get credit for Part I, but Part II is unique to each institution. Please contact the NEIU Ethics Officer to discuss the specifics and be ready to provide your confirmation certification regarding Part I.
