Northeastern Illinois University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager.

Full-Time, Continuing Position

Under general supervision of the Director of the Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching Office, the Coordinator of Student Services assists students in the Initial Licensure Programs housed within the Educational Inquiry and Curriculum Studies; Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics; Teacher Education; and Special Education Departments with the management of their academic careers and field experiences. The Coordinator also assists the Director of the Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching (CEST) Office with issues related to students’ pre-student teaching clinical and student teaching experiences.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager reports to the Director of Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching (CEST) Office, who reports to the Dean of the College of Education (COE). The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager works with faculty, students, and PK-12 educators to coordinate pre-student teaching clinical and student teaching placements to best meet students’, CAEP, Illinois, COE, and Initial Licensure requirements

The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager will organize and conduct clinical and student teaching group information sessions each semester for students in College of Education Initial Licensure Programs, presenting important information related to field experiences, placement processes, COE and CEST Office requirements, and application materials.

The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager also will assist students prior to and after admission to the College of Education with questions related to edTPA, early field experiences, pre-student teaching clinical, and student teaching experiences, policies, procedures, and general questions.

The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager works extensively with and provides data to Director of the CEST Office, COE Department Chairs, and Initial Licensure Program Coordinators. The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager will create databases in Excel and ACCESS to track early field experience students’ progress and completion of requirements. The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager also will maintain and collect data for students’ pre-student teaching and student teaching experiences and placements and will collect, store, and tabulate CAEP, SPA, and Initial Licensure Program assessment data.

The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager will assist the Director of the CEST Office in revising policies and procedures to best meet the needs and interests of teacher candidates and changing requirements of the State of Illinois and COE Initial Licensure Programs. The Coordinator of Student Services and Data Manager also will provide overall leadership on special projects related to student interests and services for the Director of the CEST Office.

The person is this position is required to be familiar with CEST Office; College of Education; Illinois licensure, and College of Education Teacher Licensure Programs. This position interacts with students, faculty, PK-12 administrators and teachers, and key university personnel. It requires an in-depth understanding of student and program needs to improve processes, procedures, and services to students and COE faculty and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, preferably in an education-related field. This position requires excellent communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated knowledge of PK-12 schools and education; demonstrated, extensive knowledge of and fluency in word processing, databases, spreadsheet programs; ability to supervise staff; and ability to relate to and work with diverse constituents. Experience in PK-12 education and higher education is preferred.

Salary and Benefits:
