                 Graphing Calculator (required) -TI85 or TI86 recommended
                 Text and calculator are required at each class session.
Course           A functional approach to College Algebra and Trigonometry, for
Description      students who intend to continue with Calculus I.

Method           Lectures, question and answer sessions, moderated individ- 
of Instruction   ual and group problem solving sessions, hand-in problem 
                 assignments, regular use of technology in and out of the
                 classroom.
Homework         Homework assignment will be announced at end 
and quizes       of every class day and posted on the website. 
                 Quizes will be given at beginning of every class day to 
                 check your after class work. Quizes will be graded and
                 counted for 100 points and can be used to substitute either 
                 Exam 1 or Exam 2.
Exams:           Exam 1:      Wednesday, June 6,   Session I, 100 points 
                 Exam 2:      Wednesday, June 20,  Session I, 100 points

                 Final Exam:  Wedesday, June 27, 11:00-1:00 pm, 200 points
Method           Evaluation of your performance in the course is based on

                 being dropped, The total number of points is 400.
Grading:         90-100% (360-400 pts): A, 80-89%(320-359 pts): B,
