The TRIO program provides opportunities to assist students with academic development, personal enrichment, career advising, financial guidance, leadership, and networking opportunities. TRIO can help undergraduate students with important decisions such as college major, career choices, financial aid, and course selection.

How do I refer a student to TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)?

Any TRIO SSS staff member can receive your referral. Our office support staff will also accept all referrals. You may download and use the Referral Form and send it to our main office (LIB 412). Student may be referred at any time, but early semester is preferred.

How do students benefit from TRIO SSS?

Students who are low income, first generation, or students with a disability can apply. Students only need to meet one of the qualifications. Students who have the potential to graduate with

adequate support and one-to-one guidance will benefit from TRIO SSS. Most importantly, students who are willing to actively engage in TRIO SSS services will experience the best results from

our programming.

How does TRIO SSS help students succeed?

An individualized Student Success Plan is generated between TRIO SSS and the student every semester for each course in which the student is enrolled. Potential challenges are identified and a strategy is developed for each challenge. Regular meetings are scheduled with the TRIO SSS staff, who monitor and adjust the plan throughout the semester.
