The Faculty and Staff Training Room, located in room 4066 of the Classroom Building, can be a very busy place. As the primary facility of the Client Service Center (see article on page 1), it serves as a regular retreat for those wishing to improve their technology skills. Workshops and open lab sessions are held on a monthly basis. In addition, the room is used regularly by several departments across campus, such as Human Resources and the Controller's Office.
What many of you may not know is that this room is available to be used for any faculty and staff training event. The schedule for room use can be found on the web at:
. Check the calendar for an open time slot, and then scroll to the top of the calendar window where you will see an option to "Submit an Event."
Fill out the form and click Submit. You will receive a response within three working days confirming your request. At that point, you will be able to return to the calendar and see it posted. Most requests are able to be confirmed on first submission.
The lab contains 15 workstations and an instructor's station, all equipped with Dell PCs running both Windows 2000 and Windows XP. More information can be found on the above mentioned web page. Special software requests, or other inquiries, can be submitted to
