The session that I attended was about freeing the mind and the body with Mr. Hughes. I was interested in this session because of the description I had read about it in the booklet. I thought this would be a great session to attend because I wanted to learn ways in which I could relieve stress and tension. I wanted to feel relaxed and peaceful. In the class we did a lot of walking around while listening to slow and calming music. This was very interesting because you had walk in the way you feel about yourself. This exercise made me become lose and more active. There was a different kind of vibe going on in the class and we could feel each others energy. After we walked around for a while we laid down on yoga mats in a position where we felt comfortable. This was a process of being comfortable with our body and also bringing peace to the mind. This helped me decrease the tension in the body and the mind.
I think these exercises would be good for teachers and students to attend because of the techniques used to heal people in a variety of ways. A lot of people are overwhelmed with all the things going on their life such as school and work. This will help them be more tranquil and make their life less chaotic. I think it would be great if it were a part of the College of Education. We could replace this session for any regular class time and make it like a field trip; it would be like experimenting strategies outside of the classroom. I believe that teachers as well as students can incorporate this into their daily lives to be stress-free. The conference was great and it helped me to transition into a more soothing state. When I left the conference I felt very relaxed in my mind and my body. It was a type of healing without any medicine that everyone can do, but would need direction in. It is an excellent way to know about your body and how to make it less tense. It is a wonderful activity to participate in and it brings back good feelings that you once had. It will help you become comfortable, stress-free, and will put you into a state of tranquility.
