AEE Update

by Sylvia Dressler

The AEE Heartland Region conference will take place March 16-18, 2001, at  Bradford Woods, just outside Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the site of two highly successful Heartland conferences, and we are looking forward to another one!

The theme of the Conference is Leading from the Heart.  Conference convenors are Margie Solis from Bradford Woods, and Becky Kime, from 100th Monkey Adventures. A new feature this year will be three fishbowl caucases - Education and Training, Therapeutic Adventure, and  Social Justice. Our usual array of excellent workshops and thought provoking keynotes will also be present, as well as opportunities to enjoy the surrounding area. Registration brochures will be mailed out in January to AEE members, and will be available at the TEAM conference.

The 28th Annual AEE International Conference will take place November 2-5, 2000, in Tucson Arizona. "A Celebration of Learning:Explore the Vision - Experience the Journey" -will take place at the Tucson Convention Center in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. In a locale surrounded by the Sonoran Desert, this conference will provide plenty of outdoor activities, a 60,000 square foot exhibit hall (which will include 70 booths, Career Connections, a technology center, the Mock Classroom, food and entertainment, demonstrations, a climbing wall and kayak tank, and more!), over 140 workshops, 8 live entertainment options, 3 keynote speakers (R. Carlos Nakai, John Graham, and Opalanga Pugh), awesome pre and post-conferences and tours of the area, and more!  The Registration Brochure has been mailed to members and can be found on our web page at www.aee.org.

Experience a great conference!

AEE continues to offer its members a chance to affiliate with the outstanding membership association in the field. The new strategic plan for AEE, which will be in the process of implementation over the next 5 years, will raise the quality of conferences, publications, and networking opportunities for its members.
