ORGANIZATIONS:

Social Work Discussion Groups -- All social work students are required to sign up for the NEIU SOCIAL WORK LIST of the Social Work Program. Announcements and notices will be posted to this list. Please check your e-mail regularly for updates and changes in social work department policies, curricula, and procedures. You will find instructions for signing up for this and two other social work related discussion groups.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) -- submit your completed application form to the Department of Education through the web, by modem, or by mail.
Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) -- Illinois student aid programs administered by ISAC.
FinAid, the Financial Aid Information Page -- provides a free, comprehensive, independent, and objective guide to student financial aid.
SRN, Scholarship Resource Network - Scholarship Information Center provides an overview on financial aid resources available to students with a special focus on scholarship information.

SIGN-UP INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1:        Go to Academic Computing located in CLS 3108 in the Classroom Building on campus and open up your internet account if you have not done so.

STEP 2:         Logon to the internet using your login and password.

STEP 3:         At the GAMUT Prompt, type PINE and hit ENTER (or RETURN) key.

STEP 4:         Press C (for Compose A Message).

 

TO SIGN UP FOR NEIU SOCIAL WORK LIST

STEP 5:         Type lisproc2@neiu.edu (after to:)

STEP 6:         TYPE (in message section) subscribe res-l firstname lastname
                        (Be aware that there is a lower case L in the res-l, do not type the number 1,
                        also your firstname and your lastname should be typed where it is designated.)

STEP 7:         Press the CONTROL KEY and X simultaneously.Message will appear asking
                       if you want to send mail. Press Y (for yes) and hit ENTER (or RETURN).

STEP 8:         If, in the future, you want to send messages to this list you would send the message to:

res-l@neiu.edu

You should now be signed up for the Discussion Group in the Social Work Program. All annoucements
