Lucius Black Jr. received a B.A. from Alabama State University and earned an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Chicago, with a concentration in Race Relations. He has done further graduate work at Loyola University. He regularly teaches Introduction to Sociology, Race & Ethnic Relations and The Black Movement. His special interest is community organizing and fund raising. Lucius Black is the founder and president of Resources and Linkages, Ltd., a fund-raising and consulting firm which has raised over fourteen million dollars. For more than 23 years, he has worked to assist many Chicago Area Nonprofits in building strong resource development programs. In his spare time, Professor Black enjoys the outdoors, especially biking and travel, and spending time with his family.
