Welcome to the site to improve lives of citizens. We have identified that the current system of capitalism is designed to exploit citizens for individual profit or personal gains. When we associate cost to helping people, the help really stops at the cost.
The more money you have the better medical treatment you get. The better insurance you have the better treatment you get. Money determines the degree of medical attention you get.
What if we could get skill sets in areas we need and not have pay any money for them? We would like to start with a few individuals and pull in people in need in manageable chunks. First we would like to develop a society of diverse skill sets. We need doctors, nurses, educators, laborers, and craftsmen.
We need your help. Use the left hand navigator to register your skills to our database by clicking the volunteer link. Remember we are providing free services, hence "volunteer".
We already have socialist programs in our society, they are the public libraries, shelters, not for profit companies, fire department, Open Source software community, welfare, labor unions and many more. The United States is becoming more socialist in some regards.
In today's current society mostly in the western world, everything is privatized. That means a small group of people own all the resources and you own nothing. If someone could own the atmosphere, believe me, you would be paying for air to stay alive. Imagine a world without credit cards, mortgages, taxes, and loans. Imagine, your home is yours and nobody could take it from you because there is no loan, and no taxes. For sure this would reduce the crime rate and everyday stress which would probably allow for parents to spend more time with their children and reduce divorce rates. Less people will depend on money for survival. We believe a democratic society with majority of a social economy mixed with some capitalism will work.
------
In a socialist society the means of production are owned by the workers rather than by a rich minority of capitalists or functionaries. Such a system of ownership is both collective and individual in nature.
It is collective because society can control production unlike the economic anarchy of capitalism and because production is for the common good rather than for individual profit.
At the same time it is individual because workers are no longer a 'collective' mob of alienated non-owners employed by a minority of owners. Work becomes a free and self-affirming activity for each worker and they receive the full fruits of their labor. The capitalists and their servants no longer control production nor grow rich from other's toil. Everybody is an owner. Socialism is genuine free enterprise.
