![]() CurrencyThis site is really up to date. Due to the nature of the site, a news story makes it to the front page every 10 minutes on average. It is constantly being developed by its founders and is now functioning under a new system.RelevanceThis is a social news site that is designed to display news from around the world. The news is reader-submitted. This means that the very readers of the website supply content. There are different categories for the news. Picture, video and article categories are most popular.AuthoritySince the news is user-submitted, it tends to be a bit biased toward the liberal point of view. However, the user submits a link to a story instead of the actual story. This makes it fair in the way that a user is more of a scavenger for news rather than the writer. Authority on the article is judged on where the article is hosted, and that can be literally anywhere in the internet.AccuracyThe stories told are truthful in general. However, there are several safeguards in place to detect if a story is false. Readers could report the story as inaccurate or just plain made-up. A story is cross-examined with most if not all similar articles in the past before it is submitted.PurposeFrom the website: "Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web.
