Finding A Gym

LOOKING TO JOIN A GYM

If you are looking for a gym make an appointment at a few and ask if you may tour the facility before deciding to join. Make sure you go for the tour around the time you would normally like to exercise there.  Take the time and make sure you feel comfortable there and that it is convenient.  Gyms should be local to your home or work.

If you have a small child check to see if the gym has child care while you workout.  Take the time to look at the child care facility where you would drop your child off and make sure it is child proof safe.

Ultimately, ask the tourist if you may spend some time alone talking to current members.

Things you should look  for in a good gym

  Is the gym clean?
Does the gym have cardiovascular and weight machines?
Does the gym offer a variety of programs (i.e., aerobics,   racquetball, stress management, weight management and etc.)?
  Is parking available?
  Is child care available?
Are new members instructed on how to use machines?
Are locker rooms fully equipped with showers, lockers and dressing rooms?
