The WebMail system also requires the Java SE Runtime to be installed for proper operation. Visit the SCS FAQ for information regarding Java SE. Java SE JRE (Java Runtime Environment) can be downloaded from http://java.sun.com. NEIU WebMail is the university e-mail system that students use to send and receive E-Mail.
In order for you to log in to NEIUport, you will need to know your NEIU NetID and password. You can obtain your NetID by visiting http://neiuport.neiu.edu and then clicking on the “Look Up Your NetID and E-Mail Address” link from the main NEIUport web page. Have your student ID with you.
This tutorial’s information is based upon logging into WebMail from the NEIUport system.

WebMail is a web-based e-mail system. Like other web-based e-mail services such as Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail, it is run by an online service provider, and enables users to access, send and receive e-mail massages by using only a web browser. Users access the site by entering a web address in the browser’s address field.
NEIU WebMail, however, does not require the user to enter a web address or log in separately. Like Blackboard, WebMail is accessible after signing into NEIUport. At the top right of the NEIUport window there is a navigation bar. Clicking the e-mail button opens up a new window and automatically logs you in. This requires that your pop-up blocker be turned off. If you do not have your NEIUport login information please see the section below on how to obtain your NEIUport account information.
