Step 1:

Click on the “Look up your NetID and E-Mail Address” link

Click on the “Forgot Your NetID?” button

1. Enter your NEIU ID number (0 followed by your 7 digit NEIU ID number) as it is displayed on your University ID card or tuition bill.  If your NIEU ID number is less than 7 digits add 0s at the beginning to get a total of 8 digits.


2. Enter the month and day of your birthday as a 4 digit number (MMDD). 


3. Click Search for ID and the system will respond with your NetID user name and your NEIU e-mail address.

NetID was obtained in Step 3.


Password was obtained in Step 5.

Press the Select button.

Click on the ‘What is my password?’ button

After entering your new password twice in the fields as directed, click on the Change Password button.

Click the link that says “Change answers to Authentication Questions”

Enter answers in the areas provided and click the Save button. 

  1. • If you already know your NetID and Password, select one of the links from the top menu.

  2. • If you forgot your NetID, continue with Steps 1 - 4.

  3. • If you know your NetID, but forgot your Password, click here.

  4. • If this is the first time you are using NEIUport, continue reading.

CARSID: Enter your NEIU ID number (0 followed by your 7 digit NEIU ID number) from your University ID card or from your tuition bill.  If your NEIU ID number is less than 7 digits add more 0s at the beginning to get a total of 8 digits.


PIN Number: Enter the month and day of your birthday as a 4 digit number (MMDD). 


Press the Login button after filling in the fields.

If you do not click on this link, you may have trouble logging into NEIUport in the future.

Step 6: VERY IMPORTANT

You must use eight characters for the password based on the 3 criteria as instructed.  IMPORTANT: Read the 3 criteria entirely before attempting to create a password.  You might find it helpful writing down the password first before entering it.

Click Login to NEIUport

Step 8:

If you encounter a “Browser Problem” error - click the Continue Button to get to the NEIUport Login page.

Step 9:

Enter your NetID

Enter your Password

Click the Login button

Your NEIU Username / UserID is the same as your NEIUport NetID

You must have the NetID field filled with your username in order to setup/change your password.  In the password field enter your birthday again(MMDD).

Answer ALL questions and click the Save button.
