File Transfer Protocol - Fetch
File Transfer Protocol - Fetch
Files may be transferred to and from your NEIU account (on the remote server) to your local computer. This allows you to store files on your computer and / or host a web page. This document will only cover the Macintosh FTP client Fetch which is available in the student computer facilities. There are numerous other FTP applications available if you prefer to use a different one on your personal computer.
Using Fetch, your NEIU account can also be accessed from any internet-capable computer on or off campus. Users can easily transfer copies of their files to their NEIU accounts and retrieve them at a later date.
The different sections of this online tutorial can be accessed by clicking on the links at the top of the page or by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the pages.
