Provides technical support and training for students utilizing Student Computing Resources. Individual conducts ongoing workshops, prepares manuals and documentation for workshops, operations and other instructional uses. Establishes working relationships with students and faculty. Under general supervision, provides guidance to users in selecting microcomputer equipment and software to support the equipment. Assists users in all phases of use of all supported computing, communications, and LAN services. Serves as user contact for problems with the computing systems and follows through with solutions to the problems. Maintains a select collection of software, documentation, references, and periodicals for use by students. Evaluates software packages and recommends selections that meet the needs of the user and the information technology plan.  Directly supervises the activities of the student technician team.  Evaluates and develops hardware and software solutions which satisfy the needs of students.  Provides in-house technical training and consultation for Information Technology personnel.  Directly oversees the installation and maintenance of software and hardware. Sets technical specifications and guidelines for standard computer configurations.
