Outreach Services

Northeastern's Counseling Services provides outreach services and initiatives and can meet with your classes, student organizations and other programs

The counselors in Counseling Services are committed to extending their provision of services to the Northeastern community at large. As part of this commitment, we offer programs, workshops, and presentations on various topics to students, faculty, and staff at Northeastern. Often, we work in collaboration with faculty, student organizations, and other offices on campus to promote and maintain students' success and wellness.

We ask that you submit your request for an outreach 2-3 weeks in advance. In addition, we ask that the person requesting the outreach assures that at least 8-10 participants will attend such outreach. While we will try our best to meet your request, certain times of the year do not allow us the time and resources to do outreach programs.

Presentations requested typically last 45-90 minutes and address topics such as:

  • Time Management and Procrastination
  • Study Skills
  • Test Anxiety
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Substance Abuse
  • Communication and Relationships
  • Self-Injury
  • Stress Management
  • Assertiveness
  • Coping with Depression
  • Resources available at Counseling Services
  • How to refer someone to our office.

If you would like to request a workshop or presentation please contact Dr. Rahan Ali, Wellness Education, at (773) 442-4650 or r-ali5@neiu.edu.
