      President William H. Taft visited Immaculate Conception School to address a crowd of 10,000 on March 10, 1912. 

      On June 5, 1932, thousands of Poles gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the parish. 

      Hollywood came to South Chicago from August 9 to the 12 ,1949. Scenes from "Appointment With Danger," starring Alan Ladd, were shot inside the church and on parish grounds. 

On September 27, 1982 the parish celebrated its 100th anniversary.
