East Side Churches

      The histories of most Chicago neighborhoods can be best learned by looking at the churches in the community.  The East Side is no exception.  One of the first local institutions created by newcomers to the community were the churches.  Therefore, by looking at the histories of area churches one can follow the sequence of ethnic succession in the community.
