Clinical Practicum In Literacy Education
Clinical Practicum Application

Clinical Practicum is conducted in the Literacy Center on the Byrn Mawr campus. Each session is limited to 10 graduate students. It is important for graduate students to complete an application and indicate first and second choice of terms for clinical practicum. Preferences are honored based on the receipt date of the application. In order to maintain registration in the clinical practicum, graduate students must fulfill two requirements. First graduate students must provide a finger-print background check conducted within the previous 12 months. Second, graduate students must pass the 176 Reading Specialist exam prior to the beginning of the term. Graduate students can register for the 176 exam at Illinois State Board of Education website http://www.il.nesinc.com/IL17_testdates.asp. If you have any questions about clinical practicum, you may contact Dr. JoAnne Vazzano j-vazzano@neiu.edu, Literacy Center Coordinator.
