What is Proyecto Pa'Lante?
Proyecto Pa'Lante is a special program at Northeastern Illinois University that assists students in developing their academic potential. Proyecto Pa'Lante accepts both students who do meet NEIU admission requirements and students who do NOT meet regular admission requirements.

How do I get to the NEIU campus and the Proyecto Pa'Lante office?

Please note to park ON campus, a parking sticker must be purchased from the Public Safety Office for $5.00
The Public Safety Office is located on the first floor of the parking garage or there is a parking sticker dispenser in Lot H. Otherwise, there is free parking located on the side streets around the campus.

How does one become a student in Proyecto Pa'Lante?

Call (773) 442-5460 and ask to speak to any advisor or stop by the office located in LWH 4029 of Lech Walesa Hall. Becoming a student at Northeastern through Proyecto Pa'Lante is based on more than just an assessment of a student's academic records. Proyecto Pa'Lante also interviews prospective students in person to find out about them and Proyecto Pa'Lante considers what others have to say about a student through letters of recommendation.

How will Proyecto Pa'Lante assist a student in College?
At Proyecto Pa'Lante, one advisor will be assigned to a student who will work consistently with them, until they declare a major. The student's advisor will also direct the student to all the academic resources on campus and will also assist them in resolving academic and other questions. During a student's first year, Proyecto Pa'Lante ensures that they have a solid understanding of expectations at the university level both through advisement and through the completion of a required seminar course.

Does Proyecto Pa'Lante offer scholarships?
There are numerous scholarships and tuition waivers available for students depending on their eligibility. Click here to go the NEIU Scholarships and Retention website. How long does a student stay with Proyecto Pa'Lante?
Proyecto Pa'Lante works with students generally through the first two years of college or until the student declares a major. Once a student declares a major, they then receive advising from the department of their declared major.
