Visitor Parking:

     Daily Guest Parking:

Level II daily permits are issued from our permit dispensing machines located in lot H at the southwest side of campus and in the Parking facility on the first floor.  These permits should be placed face up, on driver's side of vehicle dashboard.  Do not cover the vehicle identification number. Level II daily permits are issued at the cost of $5 per day for each day purchased and are not valid in Level I.  If the machine is broken or temporarily out of order, you must purchase your daily parking permit from the Parking Office located in the northeast corner of the Parking Facility. Parking Office issued permits are to be hung from rearview mirror facing forward. 

Multi-day guest parking permits are issued by the calendar week and are available for purchase and pickup at the Parking Office only.  Advance purchase of daily guest Parking Permits is available at the Parking Office Only.

     Meter Parking:

Meter parking is for short term parking only at a cost of 25 cents for every 15 minutes with maximum parking limit of 30 minutes.  Meter rates and time limits are posted on all the meters.   Possession of a valid NEIU parking permit does not allow parking at a meter without payment.  Parking meter compliance is enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Any vehicle parked at an expired meter is in violation and will be ticketed.  Being just a few minutes late is not an acceptable reason for appeal.

Other Parking:

Carpool Spaces are very limited and require a Parking Department special issue carpool permit. These car pool spaces were established out of a government employee initiative program.  University employees that car pooled received permits and are the only ones allowed to park there.  Due to the limited parking spaces available and an overwhelming demand from those employees qualifying for this program, the issuing of additional car pool stickers has been stopped until further notice.      

Drop off spaces at the NEIU Child Care Center are to be used only for temporary parking associated with the drop off and pick up of children participating in the NEIU daycare program.  The Parking Office time monitors this area and any vehicle found violating the use of these drop off spaces will be ticketed.
