The Reserve Collection contains materials placed on reserve by instructors for use by students enrolled in their classes. Course reserve materials may include books, photocopies and electronic versions of journal articles or sections from books. All hard copies of course reserve materials, that is, books and photocopies are located at the 1st floor Reserve Desk. Tests, audiovisual materials and some music related materials are located at the 3rd floor Reserve Desk. Electronic versions of journal articles or book sections can be viewed and printed online from any computer on or off campus. All reserve materials are listed in the NEIIU Library Catalog. There are also lists of reserve materials in the binders at the 1st floor Reserve Desk and at the 3rd floor Reserve Desk.
Locating Course Reserve Materials in the NEIU Library Catalog
2. Enter the instructor's name OR the course number. Click "Search". A list of all your instructor's reserve materials will be displayed.
3. Click on the URL for the item you are looking for. A complete list of all your instructor's classes and their respective readings will be displayed. Hard copy materials--books and photocopies--will include a call number. Write the call number down and give it to the staff member at the 1st floor Reserve Desk.
Materials
in electronic format will be in "Parts", each linked to the item or part
of the item. Some titles will be in multiple parts and you will need to
click on each part to view and print the entire document. Items with only
"Part1" next to the title are complete. There are no additional parts associated
with these items.
Each part
is in PDF file format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing. Adobe
Acrobat Reader can be downloaded FREE from the Adobe
Web site (http://www.adobe.com/acrobat/).
