Northeastern Illinois University Archives holds several special collections, the majority of which do not pertain to University history. Some, such as the Men's Math Club require permision to access these materials.
The University Archives also holds a special collection of documents pertaining to the Japanese Internment at the onset of World War II and the Redress hearings held after the war at Northeastern Illinois University.
These primary sources consist of oral histories in the Japanese and English languages, interviews, hundreds of letters and memos between the White House, government departments, the military, and Executive Order 9066, which implemented the internment of Japanese Americans. These records include many de-classified government documents. There are also bibliographies, a few photos, and documents pertaining to the Japanese Redress.
