This includes those for organizations such as the American Association of Higher Education, the American Association of Colleges and Universities, reports and data, as well as to links to specific university assessment plans.

GENERAL LINKS

The American Association of Colleges and Universities. This association covers issues such as liberal education, general education, curriculum and assessment. Under the curriculum page is a list of resources including assessment resources. In this area one can find a freely accessible instrument called the “Student Assessment of Learning Gains,” which allows instructors to modify the instrument for their own course design, enables students to complete the instrument online and allows instructors to review and download statistical analysis of their students’ responses.

The American Association of Higher Education Assessment Forum. Annually the AAHE sponsors an assessment conference and assessment publications.

ASSESSMENT RUBRICS

Bowling Green State University. Contains rubrics used to assess its general education goals as well as access to a large assessment rubrics website.

DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC

English: A council of writing instructors provides a common understanding of learning outcomes expected for first year composition courses.

Mathematics: The National Science Foundation supported a project to provide information relative to the assessment of undergraduate mathematics programs. This site contains case studies as well as guides and indicators for a quality mathematics program.

PORTFOLIOS FOR ASSESSMENT

Southern Illinois University has prepared a FAQ regarding portfolios for assessment of student work as well as program assessment. This site also includes links to examples of assessment portfolios at other institutions.
