Welcome to the math major!

Our undergraduates at NEIU pursue one of two tracks: the applied mathematics track or the secondary education track. When you declare your major or change it to Mathematics, you are considered technically an applied mathematics major. To be declared a secondary education major, you need to apply and be admitted to the College of Education Secondary Education Program. To find out more about the Secondary Education program in the College of Education, contact Mike Bochnewych, M-Bochenwych@neiu.edu, the advisor in the College of Education. You do not need to officially be enrolled in the College of Educaiton to be taking mathematics courses that count towards the secondary education track mathematics major, though.

The undergraduate handbook can be found here (link coming). It contains the list of required and elective courses currently approved for the major in each track, along with their prerequisites.
