CREAR is a project with the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

CREAR'S goal:
- To fund up to 8 NEIU majors in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Applied Math for research opportunities in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UIUC or at NEIU in the summer of 2011 and 2012.
- help all interested NEIU majors in these four areas successfully apply for internships, jobs, and graduate school in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Summer Research Experience details:
- STIPEND: $5000 plus housing and transportation (if at UIUC) or $3000 (if at NEIU).
- TIME COMMITMENT: 35 hrs/week for ten weeks.

Fill out the application, which you can download in word format or in PDF format or pick up a hard copy from the staff of the Student Center for Science Engagement in 235 Brommel Hall (formerly the Science Building). Applications are due March 15, 2011 and the award announcement will take place April 15, 2011 at the NEIU Annual Student Research/Creative Activities Symposium luncheon.
