Cyber
Terrorism . A .New War.?
.The United States must come to
terms with . cyber-security. We have enemies. They are smart. They
will use our technology against us. They will attack the seams of our
technology infrastructure. Our technology, like society, is
. interdependent. The only way to counter this threat is for
. government and [industry and academia] to work together..

House Office of Homeland Security
Defining Cyber-Terrorism
Definition of Cyber Terrorism . In 1997, Barry Collin, a senior research fellow at the Institute for Security and Intelligence in California, who coined the term "Cyberterrorism", defines cyber-terrorism as the convergence of cybernetics and terrorism.
How you define Cyber Terrorism is important because depending on how you define the term, you either believe that the United States has been attacked, or if we are vulnerable to Cyber Attacks.
The FBI defines Cyber-Terrorism as .The premeditated, politically motivated attack against information, computer systems, computer programs, and data which result in violence against noncombatant targets by sub-national groups or clandestine agents..
Cyber security experts are split on the issue.
