Brenda Murphy graduated from Northeastern with Honors. Her concentrations were in Sociology and Women's Studies. She is associated with Women and Children First Bookstore, an independent Chicago bookseller that features works by, for, and about women. Ms. Murphy has had a life-long interest in books and ideas, especially the "detective-mystery" genre and works written by women using women as central characters.
