 Sylvia Foti

Sylvia Foti, a life-long South Side Chicago resident, has been a journalist, teacher of beginning public speaking (Speech 101) at St. Xavier University, and English 101 at Daley College in Chicago. Although a graduate of Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern, Ms. Foti's passion has always been creative writing. In 1998, Ms. Foti began Lotus Ink, her own writing company, and recently launched a creativity coaching practice to aid writers in developing their creative talent.

Ms. Foti has written articles for the Chicago Tribune, Southtown Daily, Chicago Parent Newsmagazine, Crains Chicago Business Magazine, L.A. Parent Newsmagazine, and Real Woman Magazine. Her first mystery, Skullduggery, was published in 2002. It is a novel that explores Chicago politics and incorporates the occult. Ms. Foti, is currently working on another mystery dealing with the occult and murder.
