GUIDELINES FOR TESTING REPORTS


For each test administered, you will complete a typed report (minimum of 5 pages double-spaced).
 

Organize your report into a narrative; i.e., do not just answer the questions as separate items. Make each capital letter section a separate section with a heading in the left-hand margin.
 

AREAS TO BE COVERED IN YOUR REPORT
 

A. Behavioral Observations of Subject
 

How did your subject approach the tasks?
Did they persevere when it was difficult or did they give up easily?
Which tasks did they have more trouble with?
B. Administration
 
How hard or easy was the test to administer in a standardized way?
How clear were the instructions in the Manual?
Which ones did you have the most difficulty following? What made them difficult?
C. Scoring
 
Is the scoring of items subjective or objective?
Are the scores transformed into standard scores? What kind?
Are the scoring guidelines clear? Where do they fall short?
D. Interpretation of your own results
 
What were your results (in raw scores & in standard scores)?
What norms table did you use to compare your data to?
How did you compare to the norms group?
What would you feel you needed to add to the numbers to properly interpret your results?
E. Standardization, Reliability & Validity as reported in the Manual
 
What was (were) the standardization group(s) used for establishing the Norms tables?
What kinds of reliability are reported in the Manual? What are the numbers for each?
What kinds of validity are reported in the Manual? What are the numbers for each?
Do you consider the information provided in the Manual to be adequate? Why or why not?
F. Critiques of Test
 
Look up the test in the MY and in Test Critiques. What was the overall evaluation of the test and of the manual?
G. Overall Impressions
 
Summarize your overall experience with this test?
