The Math Development Program

The Math Development Program provides advisement, enrollment access, instruction in developmental mathematics, and academic support in mathematics for all Northeastern students. The Math Lab, located on the fourth floor of the Library, offers tutoring, guidance, and media resources to help students learn developmental and college mathematics. Math Development strives to meet the needs of students, including their work schedules, in scheduling classes and math lab hours.

Students place into or out of Math Development courses by their ACT MATH SCORE or by their results on the NEIU Math Placement Test. Your academic advisor can provide additional information regarding your math placement.

MATH DEV courses seek to provide mastery of fundamental algebra skills as well as the acquisition of time management and study skills for the successful study of college mathematics.
