 iMATHination Conference Information

The iMATHination 2011 teacher professional development conference is open to middle and high school educators including administrators, teachers, coaches and curriculum directors. Our aim is to provide high quality sessions that support the implementation of integrated, innovative practices in math, science and technology instruction. This year our theme is "Connections and Relevance."

The iMATHination Teacher Professional Development Conference is funded by the Chicago GEAR UP Alliance and the Lay Family Foundation.

 

General Conference Information

 

Conference Fee

Presentation formats will vary depending on the presentation type. Friday Math Bash sessions will last 30 minutes and Saturday Workshop sessions will last 1 hour and 15 minutes. All workshops allow attendees to participate in hands-on activities and network with peers. Each session will offer materials that participants can immediately put to use.

  • Friday, January 21st - 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday, January 22nd - 6:30 am to 3:45 pm
 
The following are the registration fees for the iMATHination Teacher Professional Development Conference 2010.

Registration includes meal, accommodations, workshop sessions and materials;

  • Individual Teachers ........... $400.00
  • Group of 3 or more ........... $350.00

In order to be considered for the group rates, all group members must work at the same school.

A $50.00 deposit is required to secure participation in the conference. The deposit will be returned at the end of the conference.

Participants are invited to donate their deposit to the Chicago Teachers’ Center to support our services. If you want to donate your deposit please make sure to note it in your registration.

Conference Participation Information

For free participation interested teachers must work at one of the following GEAR UP high schools:

Michele Clark High School, Clemente Community Academy, Curie Metro High School, Dunbar Career Academy, Farragut Career Academy, Fenger Academy High School, Foreman High School, Harlan Community Academy, Hancock High School, Hope High School, Hyde Park Academy, Kelly High School, Kenwood Academy, Kelvyn Park High School, Little Village High Schools, Roosevelt High School, Uplift High School and Wells Community Academy.

Other Chicago Teachers' Center programs, such as the Upward Bound Math and Science program and the 21st Century program, will sponsor teachers who teach math, science or technology at participating schools.
