Social Change
by Eveline Marius

Everyone wants social change,
but you won't get it
playing chess
taking drugs
hanging around in coffee bars
making excuses
moaning
moping.
Everyone wants social change,
but you won't get it
blaming everything and anyone except yourself
taking up photography
arts and crafts
painting
video making.
Everyone wants social change,
up and down the country
there are many sitting around,
waiting
wanting
forever wishing that someone, somewhere, will bring about
change.
Looking from the gutter up, one sees clear to the top.
Equality is not freedom.
