Near 'Akaka Falls, near Hilo, Hawai'i, plunges 422 feet  in a single drop, more than twice the height of Niagara Falls.  Annual rainfall totals more than 10 feet on the northeast side of the Big Island, creating scenic waterfalls and rainforest conditions.
