Daily Objectives #10                                                                                                      Dr. Sanders
(November 1, 2001)

By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

Review:

    *  Describe construction and use of a hydrograph.

    *  Sketch typical hydrographs for various hypothetical hydrologic scenarios, explaining the effects of
geology and soils, topography, vegetation, degree of urbanization, size of the basin, shape of the
basin, saturation conditions, soil freezing, etc. on hydrograph shape.

New material:

    *  Construct hydrographs for recent runoff events at your gaging station, and describe and explain
        their similarities and differences.

    *  Compare hydrographs from your gaging station with those of other stations on the same river and
for the same runoff event, and describe and explain the similarities and differences.

    * Read two other students' hydrologic reports (second drafts) and provide helpful, constructive critiques.
